After a successful corporate career spanning twenty years and four continents, Mr. Young met his muse in 2003. In 2006 he left his mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, and finance role in a Fortune 50 company to offer independent business advisory services and to devote greater time to his writing. He has since established a successful entrepreneurial business and is seeking representation for a novel. Mr. Young is also currently working on another book.
The change in Mr. Young's external lifestyle, from a career-oriented corporate business leader to author and entrepreneur, occurred in conjunction with an internal upheaval. A fortunate confluence of circumstances in 1999 led him to question his priorities and values, and to research comparative religion. At that time Mr. Young had no meaningful religious practice, but his exploration led him to meditation, which he has continued daily since 1999. Spirituality soon became a new center for his life, a ground for fresh priorities, and the wellspring of previously untapped creativity from which his entrepreneurial spirit and his novels both flow.
In his writing, Mr. Young balances inspiration with diligence, and brings twenty years of experience as a business executive and a wealth of public speaking to the challenge of writing, marketing and selling his books.
Mr. Young is a graduate of Oxford University in the UK, is married with two children, and is active in youth and spiritual organizations. He splits his time between Atlanta, where he has lived since 1992, and the mountains of North Carolina.
